"Oh, come now. I didn't mean anything by it." Yeah, he felt a little bad about it, but that was just the sort of person he was. As much as he'd like to give the kid a hug or something, he didn't think it a good idea. Jaiden was nothing if not observant - it was a critical skill for fortune tellers, since you had to go off of facial expressions most of the time - and the skillful way that Aubrey avoiding collision with any of the crowd in here wasn't something you were born with. He frowned thoughtfully.
"It could worse. You could be vain like myself, and you don't want that, do you? I'm a terrible person." Jaiden grinned wide, drumming his fingers along the bar. "I just think everyone deserves something nice to wear. So, you can either accept a meal from me now, or you can turn me down and deal with the embarrassment of having clothes delivered to you in the middle of waiting tables on the busiest night of the week." The tone of his voice was teasing, but it seemed like he was serious enough to actually do it.

A small smile tugged at Aubrey's lips as Jaiden claimed to be a terrible person, because the teen didn't really think so. And then, as was easy to predict, Aubrey looked up in startled surprise as Jaiden continued, another flush on his cheeks.
"W-what..?" he asked, blinking. It was almost cute, how even his ears turned a light shade of pink at this. "Y-you wouldn't!" Again, there was no conviction in his voice, because while he did not know Jaiden well enough, he also had quite the feeling that the seer would indeed actually do something like that.
Ah, sweet innocence..

"Please. You know I would. Not only that, but I'd make a big scene about it, and maybe even make you try it on in front of all the patrons. Wouldn't that be something?" It was probably in Aubrey's best interest to make a decision soon - this was actually starting to sound like a good idea to Jaiden, and once he got started on something it was hard to make him stop. Sure, it sounded like a joke at first, but it might be interesting if he were to actually do it...

Poor kid.. Aubrey's eyes went wide and he opened his mouth to protest-
Before his stomach growled again and he sighed instead and gave a small nod, ears still as pink as his cheeks. He offered a weak smile, embarrassed already when nothing had yet happened, and knowing full well that if he continued to protest, he would never win. No, Jaiden seemed by far too set on making him choose one or the other.
"Uhm.. I-I guess food.. would be.. uhm.. nice.." he said, brushing a long strand of blonde hair behind his ear and looking down at the bar in defeat.

Eldarion blinked twice. He'd apparently said something wrong, and looked between the two Nymandine more carefully now, getting the impression that they were perhaps the exact opposite of his first impression--it was always hard to tell with Nymandine whether they liked each other or hated each other. At least that was the case with the previous Nymandine he'd met. Perhaps this pair was a bit more straight-forward than he was expecting.
He wondered if he should apologize or just keep his big mouth shut--he decided the latter was safer. But he definitely should say SOMETHING. "Ah, would you like to join us for a drink? I'm sure someone at one of these nearby tables would be glad to let you take a chair..." he said to the woman. After all, sitting in her own chair was better than accosting Raivont's right? He offered Raivont a brief sheepish smile as the man certainly didn't seem as if he wanted to chit chat with the woman, but he didn't have any other, peacable resolutions up his sleeve at the moment.

Jaiden idly tapped his chin, looking thoughtful. "That's too bad. I was kind of hoping we could do the clothing thing, but I guess this works. That doesn't mean I won't take you shopping when you have a day off... you don't work all the time, do you?" He said this as if the very thought amused him, despite the fact that the world was full of people who did just that for the sake of survival. Ah, to be blessed with ignorance and money...
"You know the menu better than I do. Sit down and order something. If the keep gives you gruff, I'll take care of it." He winked.

And how was it that this Jaiden fellow was so good at making Aubrey flush? Maybe it was because he cared or.. something.. Aubrey didn't know, but he sort of liked it. Despite being rather simple, the little blonde did like the attention, yet refused to spend a lot of Jaiden's ka, even with the diviner's permission.
"I usually work everyday.. I, er.. kinda like it.." he said with an embarrassed flush. It was only half true; the more Aubrey worked, the more ka he would make, the more food he would have, the longer he would survive. He bit his lip cutely as he thought. What was something on the menu that he liked, but wouldn't cost an arm and a leg..? "Soup, please.."
He kinda felt like a loser now.. Who liked work? Inve, he was such a dork.. What if Jaiden thought he was a loser, too, and didn't like him anymore? He gave a soft frown, biting his lip again out of worry.

If you were going to work at all, Jaiden figured, you might as well enjoy it. Every day was a little much, though... he blinked himself out of this train of thought and watched Aubrey, smiling at the fact that everything he seemed to do was simply adorable. Kid probably got a lot of unwanted attention. He was happy to provide some of the wanted variety for once in his life, which was probably boring and miserable.
"Are you turning down my offer of taking you to the market, then? I mean, if you like work more than me..." He raised a brow, setting some Ka on the counter for his soup without even looking.

Immediately, Aubrey's eyes widened and his flush deepened in embarrassment. "N-no! Th-that's not what I meant at all!" he said quickly, having not meant anything of the sort, and now panicking that Jaiden thought he didn't like him or something. "I-I meant that I wouldn't know when we could.."
Had he just played into Jaiden's hands? Yes. Yes, he had. Did he seem put off by it? Not in the slightest, because he didn't fully realize it even.

Jaiden grinned wide. Either the boy was terrified of offending people, or he had himself an admirer. Whichever it was, he found Aubrey quite entertaining. "Good. I'm afraid you almost hurt my feelings, dear... I'm sensitive." He found a perverse, mischievous sort of pleasure in making people uncomfortable, and when it came to Aubrey, it was easy... maybe a little too easy.
"You'll make time for me, won't you? I mean, you work all the time... surely you could take a day off somewhere in there." He offered a small pout.

Another flush and Aubrey nodded at Jaiden's words, embarrassed and trying to decide when he should take a day off.. Could he tomorrow..? Maybe. If he was really, really careful how he posed the question. People had gotten used to him working everyday, but there was little reason why they wouldn't agree to let him have a day off.
"Well.. uhm.. What day works for you?" he asked, just about the same time his soup arrived. He thanked Jaiden for the meal again as he began to eat, thinking about the implications of taking a day off. The thought truly had never occurred to him before; he wasn't especially good at anything, save for household-type stuff, and getting embarrassed at just about anything and everything.
How sweet..

Jaiden adored that whole embarrassment thing. He was the sort of self-centered person that loved to see people react to him, and Aubrey could probably feed that desire for the rest of his days with all the blushing and cute, bashful looks. He managed to acknowledge both the boy's question and his thanks with a non-chalant wave of his hand. "Tomorrow? I suppose that I'll be in town for a while longer, but it's so dreadfully boring around here. Even telling the future can get old for a while. I'd enjoy spending an afternoon with a... stunning young man like yourself." He laughed softly and reached out as if he was going to poke Aubrey's nose, stopping just short and pulling his hand back.

Aubrey blinked up at Jaiden in what was obvious surprise, not seeming to mind that he had almost been touched so much as he seemed to be almost confused. He smiled a soft, gentle smile and shook his head, taking another spoonful of soup before he spoke.
"I'm not stunning.." he said, voice quiet and shy. He seemed as embarrassed by the compliment as he was accepting of it, a truly funny combination. Tomorrow would work.. Yes, he could get tomorrow off if he asked by the end of the day. It was still somewhat early, though, so there was plenty of time.

Jaiden smirked. "Yeah, and you're not modest either. Please." He stuck his tongue out at the boy for a brief moment. To be innocent and young... he was like that at one point. Well, young, anyway. He was going to ask the kid what they did for fun around here, but he didn't suspect that Aubrey knew all that much about that. "So what's life like outside of this place? Have any friends? Go anywhere?" He fixed him with a mischievous look, tapping his fingers along the bar again. "I want to know all about you, and don't bother lying. I'll be able to tell. The cards are always honest."

So many questions so fast.. Aubrey flushed again but smiled as he shrugged. "I don't usually leave here unless the rooms are full and I can't stay the night," he said with a hint of shame. He had no real home of his own, basically, being as he came from Telsey and life had grown chaotic since. "Uhm.. I think you're the only real friend I have, if I may be so bold.."
He was indeed very modest, and still rather shy. His fear of touch distanced him from normal people, who could hug and kiss and even shake hands. Sometimes, he wanted to be able to do those things, and more, but it was an idea that terrified him.. How would he ever be normal..? He had entertained the idea of easing into it, maybe practicing his people skills in a looking glass or something, but even with practice, he couldn't touch others. He blamed his cow of a mother for that.
