Qhai's eye narrowed at the boy a bit. Her face wore a perpetual frown, so the combination of both things tugged slightly at her scar and looked menacing. In reality she was tempted to ask why he suddenly seemed so bouncy. Well, maybe not 'bouncy' persay but...animated, or something. She was hardly an expert with words.
In the end she gave a short shrug and ripped open one of the meat buns. A brief nod of approval passed before she said "Whatever. Go be all giddy somewhere else. Your cheerfulness will ruin my meal."
Xin gave her finger a light bite, not enough to break skin or even really hurt, just a bit of chastizing.
The woman sighed and said as if being put out. "I mean, I don't need anything else right now, so you don't have to hang around."
'Say thank you!' Xin protested her bad manners.
She looked down at the lion with a frown and answered, "Like hell I will!" 'Thank you' was not in Qhai's vocabulary.

Nicolae smiled a coy smile at the seer.
"You need make no promises to me," he said sipping his drink with a sultry smile. "Whether or not you...touch, certainly isn't my call to make."
With that said, and with the smile still on his face, Nicolae turned away, wondering how well this "seer" really would comprehend.
Perhaps his fortunes had changed.

Aubrey blinked in surprise as Qhai spoke to the lion cub again, but then nodded, bowed, and went off again, wondering if the girl was right in the head. On to the next table, throwing a glance at Jaiden and smiling softly to himself. However, he stopped short as he saw a Nymandine woman seeming to harrass one of the men of her race.
"Uhm.. e-excuse me?" he asked, suddenly feeling small again. That woman was scary! "M-may I get any of you anything..?"
In the face of such a dangerous being, Aubrey seemed to deflate a bit, not wanting to draw her wrath unto himself in any way, shape, or form. Perhaps it would be wiser for him to run away? Ah, but he had already asked them if they wanted anything more.. He would have to remain there, even as the frightening woman seemed to radiate a temporarily sleeping rage.

Not entirely sure what the half-elven man meant by that (though he had a guess or two), he merely smirked and turned his attentions elsewhere... to Aubrey, actually, who was rather easy to pick out of the crowd. He watched the boy move around the room, waiting for those off moments when the boy looked his way so that he could give him an encouraging smile. He really did have some important things he should be considering right now, but the young servant was a pleasant distract to the serious annoyances in his life... even though he felt a tinge of guilt at finding amusement in the way Aubrey froze up before the Nymandine woman.
Come on, kid... she's not that scary. The seer thoughtfully tapped his chin, continuing to observe in case the boy needed strength and looked for him to give it.

Eldarion looked up an instant before Syn made her presence known. One of those Zhoan tendencies toward paranoia had his fingers itching for his claymore, but it would probably be bad to draw such a large sword in such a crowded place and so, he refrained.
And he was glad he did as he put two and two together in entirely the wrong way and said, "oh, you were waiting for your girlfriend?"
Open mouth. Insert foot. But then, Eldarion didn't yet know how mistaken he was.
He turned to the serving boy with a sweet smile and answered, "nothing for me, thanks. I've hardly touched the ale I've already got."

Sevian followed Eldarion's example and said nothing of the two. It didn't consern him, after all, so it was better not to meddle in others' affairs.
Blinking, he remembered the boy. "Oh, uh... No thank you. But, you can sit down if you'd like a rest." He said with a smile. Maybe it came from having spent most of his childhood in the the exact same position, but he sympathized with the young human. Nymandine can get rowdy, especially after they've had a few drinks, and Sevian was no stranger to that; he could clearly recall hiding behind the bar of his grandfather's inn as plates and jugs and the like were being thrown all over the place just a few metres away.

Raivont shot Eldarion a look that clearly said, 'don't even joke about something like that,' with a shake of his head. He had been startled that his chair was yanked back, but as soon as he saw who's face he was staring into, he glared up in return.
"Then the pleasure is all yours, Roisin," he replied dryly. He'd hoped that that woman wouldn't see him! But, no such luck. He was going to have to make her leave now, and whether or not it would end in a fight had yet to be seen. "For what reason are you here?"
For the moment, he ignored the serving boy, fully intent on making Roisin Dubh go away. Iry didn't even seem to like her, ears pressed back against his head as he growled up at the Nymandine woman. Yes, she was trouble, indeed..

Syn also looked at Eldarion as he spoke, a sort of frightening amusement in her eyes, as if there was a sick, twisted joke here that only she knew. She did not relinquish the chair, keeping it propped backwards with her foot still. Those devious crimson eyes then flicked to the servant boy, but ignored him for now, as Raivont spoke again.
"In all honesty? None of your business, Raivont, darling," she said, a truly wicked smile gracing her lips. "How convenient, that I might see my favorite little playmate all grown up again. You haven't really changed a bit.. Whatever happened to that girl I heard you'd shacked up with? It's been years, surely you two are still together?"
And here was where things were going to get rough.

Aubrey returned Sevian's smile with a soft one of his own, a bit weak in the presence of the Nymandine woman who seemed so intent to cause trouble with the man who's chair she held hostage with her foot.
"I thank you," he said with a small bow, keeping his eyes away from the woman to avoid encouraging her wrath upon himself. "B-but there are other tables that I must attend to.."
He seemed a little hurried to get out of there, but he did not leave without bowing before he moved on, finding that the other tables were either unoccupied or the inhabitants were being seen to as it were. So, with little hesitation, he returned to the bar, his slender form ever careful not to bump into or even touch anyone else.
To anyone watching, it would almost seem as if he were just being courteous, but to anyone who was paying any real attention, it was apparent that he was more careful than he needed to be in avoiding contact with others..
He set the tray down on the bar before he offered a shy smile to Jaiden, having no knowledge of the conversation between the Seer and Nicolae.

Nicolae leaned over to Jaiden.
"Your target's returned," Nicolae whispered to him. "Please don't mind me if I listen in."

Jaiden piqued a brow. Target? He wasn't sure how to take that, but he was slightly insulted anyway - the man either thought him a hustler or a pervert. He dismissed the comment with a slight glance over his shoulder and the wave of his hand, returning his attentions to Aubrey.
"You did good... I'm a little surprised, to be honest. You seemed more confident with them than you did with me. Am I more intimidating than a handful of Nymandine?" The seer finished what little was left of his juice, gazing at the boy over the rim of the glass. "I don't suppose you get any benefits working here, do you? Shall I order something for you? You won't get in trouble... I'll just say it's for this silly fellow behind me." He tilted his head in Nicolae's direction.

Aubrey flushed faintly as he sat down, feeling embarrassed that he'd made Jaiden think he was scared of him. A small frown graced his features as this thought crossed his mind, but he was soon looking up at Jaiden in surprise.
"Something.. for me..?" he asked dumbly, before he flushed brighter and shook his head. "N-no! I couldn't possibly..! You-" He didn't seem very convinced, and as his stomach growled, he could do nothing but shut up as he hung his head in defeat. Well, so much for looking well-fed.
In truth, he ate well enough, but he had little ka to spend, and the majority of it went towards food after he finished work. How sad..

Aubrey really was something else. He couldn't imagine the sort of existence he drudged through here... the boy worked at a tavern, and probably had to spend all his earnings just to eat. Funny world, sometimes. "I couldn't possibly? Are you doubting me? I most certainly can, and I will... and if you're not willing to suggest something, I'll just have to ask the bartender what he recommends."
It amused him, the dumb-founded way Aubrey looked at him after pretty much everything he did. He'd encountered sheltered people before, but never quite this bad... this wasn't natural. Maybe something awful happened to him in the past? "Besides, don't you think your wages are better spent on something else? Like some new clothes, or something. What you have on barely looks like it's holding together."

Nicolae smiled watching the exchange between the seer and the boy. Truth was, Nicolae thought the seer could be good for the boy, maybe draw him out of his shell. Nicolae really only stayed to see how this played out. It was nice to finally be able to see some normal people interacting for a change.
'Ah well,' Nicolae thought. 'I wish them both luck.' Nicolae turned to the bartender to order another ale.

The teen flushed again, giving a stubborn pout as he did so. And then Jaiden just had to mention that his clothes weren't the very best.. He looked down in shame, knowing that Jaiden hadn't meant anything bad by it, but feeling inadequate because, even though he tried hard to stitch together all of the rips and tears in his clothes, they weren't new or nice enough to make him look respectable.
Hell, he looked like a common street rat!
But.. it was probably for the better. Priding one's self on one's appearance was never a good thing. It would only make you too cocky, and Aubrey was pretty enough for being a boy that it was a wonder he wasn't even the slightest bit egotistical..
