Quietly the young woman entered the tavern and hoped that she was unoticed. Addy had always made it a perogitive to not venture deeper into the bustiling city. The only company that she needed was Sind and Granny. Though now granny was gone and now her company consisted of Sind and annoying dead prince who died around two-thousand years ago. One day ago she had agreed to help him and he had yet to return with where to locate some information on his blood line. My heart is far too soft. While Demitrious does not have eyes, he was looking at me with such a soulful and yearning expression. As always Sind had accompanied her and he was walking quietly beside her.
In the past she had no problems when she was in the inn and since Sind was so well behaved the propiters did not mind.
Finding an open table she took a seat and motioned for her black male wolf companion to lay down under the table at her feet. This evening she was hungry and she did not feel like cooking so she decided to eat the fine cusine at the Gryphon.

Nicolae sat at the bar, cradling his ale, looking around casually. There were more Nymandine in the Inn than Nicolae liked, he was hoping not to be recognized. However, none of them seemed particularly interested in him. Nicolae wondered if he should even stay where there were so many Nymandine, even if they didn't recognize him they would recognize that he was a half-breed. Most Nymandine didn't care for half-breeds, and his human-like ears were a dead giveaway.
Then Nicolae noticed her. A winged woman had come into the Inn and sat at a table after ordering from the bar. Nicolae watched her the whole time, trying not to stare. He had heard of the Pomira before, but he had never actually seen one. It was absolutely fascinating, a person with wings! How exciting it must be to fly so freely!
And she had a pet bird! Amazing! He figured she probably caught the bird, wild! Probably tamed it much the same way!
Nicolae knew he was making a lot of assumptions, but he often did that. Saw someone and filled in the blanks, at least until he got to know them.
Not that he had the right to expect he'd get to know her, but still...it was nice to daydream.

Raivont listened to the two at his table now, scratching Iry behind the ears idly as he did. Paladins, eh..? He figured he fit right in with the priests, being one of few who chose to wield a claymore and yet having little to no ties to religion. He, like most of his race, worshipped Danai, but he did not have extravagant celebrations like others of his kind did during moonless nights when Tadra and Kane were nowhere to be found..
Still fairly quiet, he took another drink of his ale, letting amethyst eyes wander until.. He nearly fell out of his seat, jerking in surprise as his eyes landed on an all too familiar face.. Her! He cringed visibly and looked away. She had changed over the years, but there was no mistaking that dangerous aura around her.. Syn had just entered back into his life, assuming he wasn't lucky enough to escape her attention.
If he ignored her, maybe she wouldn't see him. ...Or she would try harder to maul him. Something like that.
He sat quietly, watching both again and trying to play off his reaction to such a pain in his backside by acting calm. He looked then from the Zhoan to the half-Nymandine, keen eyes having caught a glimpse of the symbol and not seeming to care. He had turned away from his home- and a few select practices- years ago..

Avati rested her elbows upon the table, her nails clinked quietly against the ceramic cup, while no where near the length, or strength of the talons others of her family sported, thankfully, as it would be unfortunate to have to constantly replace her mandolin strings; they were just were just fingernails, of a moderate and manageable length.
Looking down she watched Sylvie dance about the tea saucers’ edge, happily eating the cracker that had been reduced to crumbs for the gentle bird. There were many within the tavern, and not just people. The thought made Avati smile, and in turn glance to her tiny companion; she probably would have become a dryad or something of the ilk. There was something comforting, in the simple companionship of beasts, and it was simple to see she was not only who believed such.
A lion cub, a wolf cub, a wolf, and a bird, and yet there was peace. She sighed softly, and a dead bore.
“A pretty Ka, for a pretty song?” Avati spoke, voice raised to be head above the hustle and bustle, her eyes roved the tavern before landing upon a gentleman, and flashing a smile.

"Ah, yes, of course, we Zhoan do have a certain love of the land, after all," Eldarion answered as if it was only common sense to worship Tetra being of his particular race. In truth, he'd never really considered the worship of another deity. It was just second nature. "I understand that most Nymandine have leanings toward the worship of Danai, are you one of his paladins?" he asked, glad for the small talk--it made things less awkward.
He lifted his tankard to his lips, and it was then he noticed the other Nymandine jump suddenly. Eldarion instinctively reached his free hand out to catch the wolf cub, should he fall out of Raivont's lap. "Ah, are you alright?" he asked, awkwardness back. Had he said something wrong to startle the man so?

"No," Raivont answered, no daring to let his eyes trail back to her. He lifted Iry and set the pup on his general side of the table, lightly stroking the cute little furball as he spoke, offering the slightest of smiles. "Just not fond of crowds."
Yes.. He was definitely feeling awkward, but at least he was staying calm. His voice was ever so slightly quieter, trying not to let the Nymandine woman hear him, but knowing that because she was Nymandine, she would no matter what. Their hearing was by far too good, and that was the reason he had wax in his. Likely she did, too, but he didn't want to chance a look in her direction.

Qhai's brow furrowed as person and animal after person and animal sifted into the tavern. "...'s like a damn petting zoo," she muttered. Reise had snuck her into one once shortly after the injury to her eye to try to take her mind off the pain. She decided that the animals talked too much, didn't have anything good to say, and she wanted to 'go home' in less than fifteen minutes.
Twelve years later her opinions hadn't really changed.
'You can't really talk when you've got an animal sitting on your table, Qhai,' Xin informed her in that peculiarly unchildish manner he had.
"You shut up," she scolded the lion. "Don't blame me because you're a shitty judge of character and have no life." After all, Qhai never said 'hey you, lion. Come over here, force me to feed you, and follow me everywhere I go, and while you're at it, tell me what a horrible person I am at least seventeen times per day.' "I didn't ask you to follow me around.
'If nobody follows you around you'll get yourself arrested. You can't kill EVERYONE who mistakes you for a boy, you know.'
"I don't see why not," she answered a little huffily. "Stupid people deserve to die."

Jaiden could see it now; he'd make a grand entrance to an eager audience, all sweeping tendrils of silk and electric blue hair veined with blonde that resembled a hue of white gold. The seer had arrived and they'd line up to see their destiny revealed for a price far too meager for such a service. Those skeptics (there were always a few, sadly) who chose to sit back wouldn't for long once they saw the glorious futures that his cards revealed.
Of course, none of this happened. The tavern was full of animals and what he assumed were owners, lest he file a complaint with the keep immediately. It was a little unsanitary. The flashy young man in the gorgeous robes sulked over to the bar, let down by his own imagination. Did anyone even look when he entered? He irritably pushed some stray locks from his face, trouble-makers that had escaped the loose bun he'd tied them into this morning. This place didn't look ripe for business at all, but he could at least get something to drink before moving on, dropping a few clear Ka onto the table and whispering his order as if it was important that none overheard.

[being as this thread doesn't effect the actual game.. I can post with Aubrey! =D]
The fourteen year old kept those gorgeous light blue eyes on the ground as he brought a tray around with ales and food ordered by those at tables. He was fairly pretty for being a boy, and to those who didn't have a trained eye, it was almost impossible to tell whether he was a boy or a girl. Long blonde hair, falling straight down his back and covering one eye, coupled with that pretty, androgynous face made him look very much like a young girl.
The young teen wore older clothing, almost ratty except that he knew how to mend fabric, and as he moved through the crowds of people, he was very careful not to touch anyone, a certain grace and skill about him that most did not have. His form was lithe and slender, pale flesh unkissed by the sun adding to that sense of purity about him.
He took a breath as he stopped at the first table, one where a young woman and a lion cub appeared to be having an argument. He did not look at her, but at the table, keeping his one visible eye down.
"M-may I get you anything, miss?" he asked. Of course he would know she was a girl! Just look at him! You think he didn't get the same misunderstandings she got half the time? He knew what it was like, and he wasn't stupid..

Qhai, being her paranoid self, reached for her sword the second she heard someone next to her...and then she realized it was only a serving boy--who she recognized as a boy for the same reason, not that she particularly cared either way. "Yeah," she answered, settling back down, arms crossing her diminutive chest. "Spiced Ale and food...something with meat in it."
'Meat Buns?' Xin tried. He liked meat buns.
Qhai's one eye widened. "Ah, yeah, that's a good idea. "Meat buns. You've got meat buns here, right?" Now that the lion mentioned it, it sounded really good. Qhai liked meat buns too, she just figured any day she got to eat meat, was a damn good day. Heck, any day she got to eat, period, didn't suck. "We want meat buns--cooked all the way through--no pink parts--but not burnt or I'm sending them back," she insisted. Hey, if she was going to eat something good, she wanted it the way she wanted it.
If there was any thought in Aubrey's mind that she was sane though, after that whole 'conversation' with her pet and the 'we want...' it was probably long gone.

Aubrey gave a small, shy nod as he tried his best to remember everything. "Yes, miss," he said, offering a small bow before turning to go place the order at the counter. There were an aweful lot of people in the Gryphon's Claw today, and he took special care not to bump into or even accidentally touch anyone, moreso than any other day.
When he finally reached the counter, he set his empty tray down and took a breath, eyes shut as he tried to calm himself down. He didn't like being surrounded by so many people, but it seemed that today, he had no choice.
"Uhm, s-sir? I need spiced ale and meat buns," he said, timid and staring at the counter as he spoke. "No pink parts, but not burnt.." He brushed those blonde locks behind his ear, revealing the hidden portion of that unusually pretty face. It was only here, at the bar, that he could do so and not panic. Seeing something unusual out of the corner of his eye, he looked, just briefly, and then returned his eyes to the counter.
Who had blue in their hair..? It was unusual, yes, and he looked once more, not realizing that he was staring..

Aloof as he was, even Jaiden couldn't ignore a heavy gaze for long. Expecting to meet the eyes of some simpleton or a woman who couldn't help herself, he was pleasantly surprised to see that it was some servant boy - easy on the eyes too, despite being a little feminine. Meh. He was guilty of that himself, wasn't he?
"Are you waiting to take my order, dear boy? Perhaps you've heard of me and would like to see that which has not yet passed? Or are you just admiring me?" Jaiden laughed and tossed his exotic locks a bit, giving the young one a sultry look. "Maybe you just like my hair. Your presence is appreciated regardless, but if I may be forward, which is it?"

Being as Aubrey was still fairly young, and that he had a shy, introverted nature, it was no surprise that he blushed like a young girl and averted his eyes in embarrassment. Ah! He'd been caught! It was in no manner of a good servant to stare, and a slight pang of panic washed through his slight form.
"F-forgive me, sir," he said with a bow towards Jaiden. "I.. uhm.. I don't think I've ever seen hair like yours.. I did not mean to be a bother.." He almost seemed too shy for his age, and when he spoke, his voice displayed it. He had never heard anyone tell him that his presence was appreciated.. And while that was not the first sultry look he'd ever received, he still became almost more nervous, unsure of what to do or say..
If it weren't for the meat buns, his order would be here by now, and he would have reason to flee and regroup.. Crap..

Did they hire this kid straight out of his mother's arms? Either he was new and obviously not cut out for this sort of thing, or he'd endured an odd childhood. Not really caring one way or other, he raised a pencil-thin brow (delicate, and still blond) and pat the seat next to him. "Oh, come now. You look absolutely terrified of me. I don't know whether you're intrigued or frightened... I thought the former at first, but the way you're looking at me, I could've been wrong. Would you feel better if I ordered something?"
Jaiden just wasn't used to this kind of behavior. He came from a world of wealthy socialites and the children of wealthy socialites - there didn't seem to be much of an age gap between him and the serving boy, so it was strange to see him acting as if there was. Then again, those he shared company with at whatever party was scheduled for the evening went through extensive training to not be total embarrassments, so maybe his perceptions were biased... or maybe not. Probably not. The youth tossed his hair again and once more settled his hand upon the adjacent seat. "Sit down. We can discuss making your hair look like mine. I bet you'd like that."

The teen blinked in what was obviously surprise, actually looking Jaiden full on in the face this time instead of staring down at the bar. Who was this strange man..? Well, okay, Jaiden was young, but he still counted as a man. And it didn't make a difference who he was, Aubrey was still shy and nervous. Although..
Perhaps it did make a difference who Jaiden was, because Aubrey carefully took his seat, eying the still empty tray as he bit his lip. "I.. I can't talk for long," he said, turning towards the other hesitantly. "I have an order coming up soon.. I.." What? What was he supposed to say? Or do, for that matter?
He sighed softly, giving in. Sooner or later he'd known he'd have to at least try to talk to someone else, and now, it seemed as if that time had come. Although, Jaiden certainly was a strange fellow.. He tucked long strands of blonde behind his ears once more before clear blue eyes looked almost reluctantly up at the other, afraid he might be punished for looking anyone directly in the eye..
