The primary tavern in Telsey, it tends to be packed every night and holds a rambunctious crowd. Surprisingly, though, there is seldom any real trouble despite the number of people that spend their evening in the large building. The key to this is the owner, a very intelligent and very beautiful woman named Ashora Mezantine and her psyon-given ability to see snippets of the near future.
With two bartenders and several waitresses in her employ, Ashora needs to do little beyond issue orders. Her inborn power gives her insight into future happenings within her vicinity and she's used this to make sure that the drinks keep flowing, prepared before they are even ordered so that they arrive virtually instantly. She also has a knack for knowing exactly when someone's had enough and needs to be cut off, or when a situation is about to turn violent, in which case the bouncers are on the scene before anything can happen.
Ashora, 29 years of age with long raven-black hair and a figure men drool for, is a constant sight at The Mind's Eye. It's both her livelihood and her home and she's passionate about it's well- being. A known flirt, Ashora plays the men in the crowd expertly and has been known to take a few to bed with her, though she is very picky. This is mostly because she knows from the start which ones are going to be worth the time and also which ones are going to cause trouble. And if she can't pick out the bad ones, her sister can.
Elacia is Ashora's twin sister, physically identical in every way, though she shuns the public eye whenever possible. A quiet person by nature, her own gifts bear semblance to her sister's, but Elacia's visions reach into the more distant future. She has seen much of what the future might hold — much more than she ever wanted to — but shares little of the burden of what is to come with anyone else, even her own twin. However, for those brave enough to peer into the future and wealthy enough to pay for her services, she has proven herself an exceptionally valuable asset.

Drage entered the Mind's Eye Tavern, and slowly drifted toward an empty table. His hooded cloak concealed most of his features, but his dark chin and the soft glow of the light off his red eyes. When a waitress approached he ordered a single glass of sweet red wine. He’d always been partial to sweet wines, and it didn’t take much to satisfy his desire for the flavor. When the drink was served he took a slow sip, then pushed back his hood and looked around for his companions’ arrival. He hoped to see them as they came in.
Catching a waitress as she passed, he spoke to her in a soft smooth tone that would be hard to follow from any nearby tables. "If anyone comes in who is to be in the expedition into the mountains, would you be so kind as to direct them to my table?" he requested. The waitress nodded and strode away to fetch a drink for another patron.

The proprietor of her Arena, a man by the name of Abaddon, had told Qhai she thought this was "something you can sink your teeth into", but really she was pretty sure he was just trying to get rid of her for a while.
Qhai was the type of gladiator who was often hired out as muscle for jobs away from the arena. There were two reasons for this: the first was that she tended to go a little stir crazy when she stayed in one place too long, and when she went stir crazy she complained. And Qhai could make herself very annoying when she complained.
The second was that Abaddon's personality and hers didn't mesh well. She was a good, young Gladiator who would probably become very skilled with practice and age, but he could only handle her for so many months at a time before he needed her out of his hair for a while, and anyway, all these adventures were good experience for someone her age.
Because of her unsettled nature she didn't particularly mind, but it would be nice if the man would stop sugar-coating things and just say what was on her mind for that. It was one of the things Qhai really disliked about people: they were always hiding things.
Beside her, Xin--her lion cub and only real companion--reminded her to 'be nice'. She made a scoffing sound but was soon directed toward Drage's table. She glanced down at the man, making a cursory decision that he didn't look like much. She was always making that kind of quick decision. She rarely thought much of people until they proved otherwise.
Regardless, she stared blandly down at him and stated, "Abaddon of Meridian sent me. You're the one, right?"

His red eyes met hers and he smiled and gestured at the chair, quickly sizing up his new companion. "If you are referring to the mission into the mountains, then yes I am another member of that party." he replied. "I’m Drage. You are?" he asked and sipped at his drink.
This woman was a fighter, no doubt about it, although her weapons appeared to be indistinct, like those produced en-mass for soldiers. Weapons that were usually badly fitted to the user and therefore almost never employed to their full potential.
Still, she appeared formidable. His cloak was draped open and his blade was, as always, ready for the drawing. He didn’t want a confrontation with her, but he was ready for one, after all, outsiders rarely trusted him, and even his own people saw little value in the young whore's bastard, even in his capacity as a smith.

Hiiaka walked into the tavern with Orophin's leash held tight in her left fist. His eyes reflect an Erie glow, Orophin is being very obedient and looks to her when she stops at the bar and asks about the expedition to the mountains.
She looked at home in this crowded tavern, but looks can be deceiving. Al tho she had good muscle tone though out her body, her arms had a bit more muscle mass then the rest of her body, There was no denying she was Zhoanian, she had that certain air about her. Not to mention her physical appearance, with the tanned skin, but it was her light hazel eyes that was the dead give away.
She is directed to a table currently occupied by a man and a woman. The wolf padded next to her as she approached the table, the only weapon visible was the long bow she carried across her torso, and her wolf companion. Hiiaka removed her long bow before sitting in the chair, Orophin laid on the floor next to Hiiaka. He rests his head down, occasionally looking at the lion cub, though he was hardly curious about the thing.
"Tell me more please about this trip into the mountains!" she said getting strait to business. She flagged down the waitress and ordered a drink waiting for the man's reply.

Drage smiled at the newcomer's apparent enthusiasm. "I wish I knew" he replied and gestured toward the chair. "I’m just another adventurer, signed up to take on the challenge, same as yourselves. I do however know a little about the trade routes we're trying to clear." he paused and sipped his wine.
"In the southern and western ranges of the mountains there are several small passes that all lead, either directly or indirectly to the Gric-turn. It’s the main path leading up from the south and gets the most traffic. There are a few other paths that will get the caravans north, but they're longer, narrower, and harder to travel. We don’t know exactly where the bandits are camped, so we'd probably do well to go the bottom of the pass and work our way up, scouting and fighting as we need to." he stopped and watched his companions.
"The paths I know to get there require passing through Iodar, not an easy road for those unused to the desert trails. The other thing to consider is that they are probably watching the south for coming marks, and the north for a coming army, we are neither. As a small party we may be able to catch them blindsided if we approach from the north, but it's only a chance, and they are probably expecting some relief from Ardenbau soon anyway."
He smiled. "So the dilemma, do we come from the south, and appear to be a target so they come to us, and thereby face them on their terms. Or do we approach from the north and risk either missing their camp entirely or facing whatever defenses they have waiting?"
He sipped the wine and waited for their reaction. How they chose to approach would distinctly affect the sort of problems they faced, but to him, the result would be the same either way. He would have a chance to face the sorcerer, if there was one, and possibly claim his foe's books. Whatever he could get to learn about sorcery would play into his own crafting, and could bring him one step closer to his dream of enchanting blades.

Receiving her wine, she places the money on the waitress's tray. She looks over to Qhai and when the woman doesn't answer right away she sits back. Shuffling through some pockets in her tunic and pulls out her map of Edarin. Leaning forward again, she lays it flat on the table tracing the possible routes with her finger. She is lost in thought and finally she begins to speak.
"I feel..." She pauses again reviewing both possible routes. "I am certain that we should approach from the South, as you said...ummm what did you say your name was again?" She looked at Drage and extended her long slender hand to him.
"What if we were to purchase a wagon?." She looked to Qhai and then to Drage before she continued, "We could pose as a 'transport' of sorts, letting them do all the leg work!" She paused again making sure the other two were on the same page as her. " We can spread rumors of our 'shipment' before we leave, priceless artifacts for the King, or something of that nature..."
Hiiaka sat back in her chair sipping her wine, savoring the sweet flavor. She waited for a reply from the two others.

Drage smiled sheepishly. "my name's Drage" (pronounced Drayg) he said. he took her hand and gently placed his forhead to it in greeting. "and your name, milady?" he asked then looked at her map in consideration.
"indeed, we could pick up a waggon here" he said, pointing to an aproximated location of a city in iodar. "but it wouldnt be cheep." he added.

Qhai had remained silent for a bit, leaning her chair back on the rear two legs and arms crossing her chest. She sure had a way of looking intimidating without meaning to. "It would be pointless. Iodarans hate foreigners from what I understand. If we claim to be transporting goods to the royal house, then probably being stopped on the way becomes a definite thing. I've fought a few Nymandine. They're either paranoid about foreigners, or paranoid about Iodar. Sometimes both." She shrugged a bit.
"Well, devious plots aren't my thing. I vote for the most direct route. Once we're there they'll know we're the enemy anyway, so it's better to have them come to us. As it is they'll know the terrain better than we do and will probably have had time to set up a bunch of nuisances to bar the way." Meaning traps. She rubbed a kink out of her neck and said. "Well, I say all that but when it comes right down to it as long as I get to fight I'm satisfied. All this cloak and dagger stuff isn't my cup of tea."

"Hiiaka Séregon," Hiiaka says to Drage, and then bows her head slightly to Qhai, to not leave out her in the introduction. "And this is Orophin!" The wolf sits up peering over the edge of the table when his name was said. The wolf licked his chops and looked from Drage to Qhai, then rests his head in Hiiaka's lap. She begins stroking his head a bit as she listens in to the others.
Absorbing all that was said Hiiaka spaces out, "I see, you both have really good points." She pauses for a moment, long enough to take a sip of her drink. She then continues, "I don't know much of Iodar," she admits, "I've spent most of my time here in Ardenbau." She said frankly. "If you still want me to accompany you two, we are more then willing to learn as we go!" Her voice had sombered a bit, but she was still cofident of her abilities, it was reflected in the tone in her voice.
She sat back again watching the two strangers, she studied thier faces as she took another long pull from her glass. Hiiaka placed the glass back on the table, and brushed a long loose curl from in front of her face, that had fell. Taking the map from its place on the table, she rolled it up and placed it back in her breast-pocket. If they needed it agian she was sure they'd ask her for it when the time came.

(sorry for the delay, classes have been hectic)
Drage took a sip and considered each woman. "iodar needs these trade routs open as much as ardenbau, posibly more so. but it would probably be safer for the two of you if we go through the north side, my people are, admitedly, less than fond of outsiders. if we are all in agreement, then the north passage will be our rout. Hiiaka, you're certainly welcom by my side in this goal. if this bandit group is as large as i suspect it to be, then we'll need your bow to augment our blades durring the assault, and we may need your wolf to track the bandits once they scatter." he replied and settled back with his glass, observing the two women.

OOC: No problem here have been there, I know how school can be and an education is very important!
IC:
Hiiaka smiled at Drage when he welcomed her and the wolf. It felt good to actually be 'wanted!' She pat Orophin on the head and ruffled the fur on his head, "I think you can handle that, couldn't you boy?" She said softly to the wolf whom looked up at her and began wagging his tail excitedly. There was doubt the loyalty in his eyes as he looked at her. Hiiaka pat the wolf's side firmly, making sure she didn't do it too hard.

Safer. What was it about the word 'safe' that always rubbed Qhai the wrong way. Oh, right. Safe was generally boring. Well, she supposed it couldn't be helped. "I won't argue," she said at length. "I was sent to do this job and I'll do it. Regardless of the route, the destination is the same--I'll find compensation for my time there." And it really didn't seem as if she meant looting the brigands base. No, Qhai was that peculiar type who felt most at home when she was fighting for her life. Strange type of person, that. You don't come across it often. But then, gladiators as a rule are a strange bunch.
As if on second thought she added as if an entirely moot point, "Oh. You can call me Qhai. That's suitable enough if you need to address me." And she gestured blandly at the lion cub staring flatly up at her with oddly intelligent eyes. "He's Xin, but you needn't address him at all. He's just a nuisance anyway."
I love you too,' the lion told her sarcastically.
She rolled her eyes at the comment and said to Xin in that way that really seemed kind of a little crazy--what with the appearing to be talking to herself and all-- "I couldn't care less whether you do or don't."
Huh? Looked like Drage and Hiiaka were going to be traveling with a strange one alright.

Drage nodded with a small smile. He tried to ignore the peculiarity of her mock conversation with the animal. With most people, when they spoke to an animal as though it were talking they would at least have the sense to make a response that somehow followed the train of their own statements. He smiled sardonically, wondering if she were perhaps attempting to mimic the humor she’d seen someone else using, without truly understanding how it worked. Or maybe she understood it better than anyone else, as her response demanded some specific and vacant statement on the part of the animal to make sense, and therefore was much truer to true conversation.
“Very well, now that we have our course, I suggest we all get some rest. I’d like to leave at dawn. I’ll meet you both here at that time. May I ask if either of you have made arrangements for the evening?.” he asked. He smiled, in what would have been a charming way, were there not a sheet of racial mistrust between himself and seemingly every other race of the world. His shrewd eyes quickly scanned the room, reassuring himself of the peace of the location. No one was causing trouble just then. He returned his attention to the ladies, satisfied that for the moment he was safe.
