Hello Everyone,
If you've perused our site at all you've probably notice a number of things. The first of those things is that our administrative staff is very, very small. Unlike most other games, we exist primarily to handle requests and approvals for skills, levels, items or monies you'd like to reward others with for going on your adventures, answering questions...and, of course, reading through threads to make sure no one does anything stupid.
What happens to your character, what trials they endure and why and what they need on their journey is all very much up to you.
Shopping is no exception to this rule. You'll notice on our site and posted as a link at the bottom of all the shops, we have a fairly detailed item list complete with prices.
At a number of other games you've probably gone through shopping--you post a request, you wait for hours, days, or sometimes (the horror!) even weeks for the shop's moderator to get back to you only to take your money and give you your item. It's all very trite and boring, and let's face it, we all just want to get our stuff and go on our adventures!
To prevent this lag, and to prevent the staff from being overburdened by boring things no one wants to really go through anyway, shopping has been 'free-formed'. You have the prices. The shops have the npc's set up.
To purchase an item, you simply rp yourself purchasing it, rp the npc selling it, in a detailed and well-written fashion (I maintain that I detest one or two sentence long posts.) and deduct the funds from the funds in your profile.
Please bear in mind that a staff member is assigned to each shop and will periodically go through to make sure you've deducted those monies, so don't try to just conveniently 'forget'. We ARE keeping an eye on those of you who would try to pull the wool over on us.
That said, while it may be easier to just deduct the funds and add the items right into your profile, keep in mind that actively rp-ing out your purchases adds to your post count, which benefits you, the player, when you want to request a new level. It's only a post or two now and again, but roleplaying out your purchases is to your advantage.
Please make sure to purchase the right items in the right shop. Don't try to buy a sword at the general store! Go to the Armory for that. Don't try to buy a cloak at the Livery! They only sell horses and like supplies.
Any and all items not located on the item list should be considered 'special order' items. Please go to the Requests & Approvals forum to get permission for said items. An administrator will get back to you with a price for the item in question.
