(fyi: don't know about Nina, Tweeds, but I think it may be safe to assume that you won't get one from Cassandra. She MAY be back, but if it comes down to her being the only one who hasn't posted, you're probably safe to move on without her.)

[*jump starts*]
Lord Farren and Messir Jure both seemed satisfied with their answers, and the younger of the two went inside his home. Jure smiled politely at all of them, that senile smile making him seem older than he was.
"It's such a nice day.." he said, and whether it was to himself or the women, no one would ever know. A moment passed before Farren returned, sketching out a map and concentrating on it hard. He was a skilled cartographer, it seemed, as his map appeared top-notch.
"Okay, there are several paths that will lead you to the tower, but there are dangers with each," he said. Pointing to each in turn, he spoke again. "One is constantly victim to bandits. We don't know where they come from or when they'll attack, but delivering several young women of such beauty, even with their skill, would be a bad idea. The second path is cut off thanks to a landslide and some fallen trees. All that's left is a slope that nothing short of a mountain goat is getting through. The last path is a little longer, but it's safe, and it starts nearby. I recommend that one, but what you choose to do is beyond myself now."
He handed the map to Qhai, who was closest. "If you'd like to stock up on supplies, I'm more than willing to lend most anything in my home."

Anoulk tensed somewhat at the mention of the second path. She hated heights with every bit of her being, especially crooked mountain paths that would give way at at any moment. However, spending more time than needed with these women was also something she wasn't fond of. The one with the eyepatch and the armor seemed more tolerable than the rest. Eyes glinting very faintly, the yougn woman sat back in her chair, deciding to wait and see for now. It was certain that soon she would know where her allegiances lay.
"May I inquire as to what milord wishes us to retrieve from the tower, as proof of a task completed?" She asked the older of the two.

Jure smiled that senile old smile at Anoulk and nodded. "If there ain't nothin' living there to bring back the head of, might I suggest recovery of the other parties that have tried and failed? If none live, a token of each will do the job."
Farren nodded, a pained look coming across his features. What they didn't know was that he knew a few people who the tower had taken, but who they were and what they were to him was not yet to be revealed.
Syn listened intently to all of this, eyes scanning the map before she approached Qhai and pointed to a spot on the map. "What's this? A fourth path?" she asked the nobles. She had been mostly silent until now, but as she spoke, there was a sort of authority in her voice that commanded an answer, yet very subtle.
Farren shook his head. "You don't want to travel that path," he answered solemnly.

Qhai was not the one to really give the map to, it would seem. She looked over it in a very cursory fashion, before declaring, "Well, my vote is for the bandits."
'Your vote WOULD be,' Xin informed her blandly. 'Would it kill you to JUST ONCE take the easy way?'
Qhai stated. "Dunno. Might," in reply to the lion cub that only she could hear. Yep, she was positively looney.
She paid the old man no mind, as if he wasn't even there. That was just her way. It wasn't as if she cared, or anything. She only took the job because it sounded like something interesting might happen and here this guy was advising the safest, most boring route. She did perk up a bit at the words 'you don't want to travel that path' and associated tone. "Now this sounds interesting," she smirked in that way only someone who either had a death wish or was just extremely reckless could. "Okay, I'll bite. Why not?"

Lord Farren looked at Qhai as if she were telling him that she had seen when, how, and where he was going to die, but softened the look as he took a breath and nodded. "It is said that there is a cave along the path, more like a large wolf's den, to be fair, where something very dangerous lives," he replied. "A man took his children out hunting about a year back, and they went down that path. They were attacked, and only his youngest son survived. The poor boy wouldn't speak, but he drew what he had seen. It wasn't much, and it was dark when it had attacked, so we do not know exactly what it is."
Syn tilted her head as she listened, wondering vaguely what the creature was and how dangerous it was. "Is there a reward on the head of this beast?" she asked, leaning now in the same direction of travel choice as Qhai. She didn't like the temperature here, and she was grumpy. She wanted to kill bad guys or monsters, and soon.
Farren and Jure exchanged looks, and Jure smiled at the younger noble, nodding. Farren swallowed. "Well.. yes, as a matter of fact, there is," he replied, voice shaking slightly. "The rest of the boy's family has offered a reward, as well as the people of the town for the head of the beast. I don't recommend trying to slay it, though.. It has claimed several lives since then from others foolhardy enough to try and gain some quick ka."

That was persuasion enough for this particular Assassin, anyway. Whatever it was, Anoulk was more than sure she could handle it. Find some Neamfe flowers, grind them, add water, and voila -- poisoned blades, as good as the ones bartered in the courts of kings.
However, if she announced that she would be taking the fourth path, it would surely mean the others would try and get there before her, slay the beast, and take the reward. On the other hand, if she went ahead of them, by a different route, arriving at the cave before they did, the promised Ka would be hers for the taking. It seemed like a great plan, to stay quiet about one's intentions and then come out on top, but...
'But they could also be doing that' she realized. Any of the other women could potentially be planning the same thing, which would be problematic.

"Well, if there's a strong enemy to fight on that path, then that's the way I'm going," Qhai declared with a definitive nod. "If you spend your whole life taking the 'safe' route, nothing ever happens."
Apparently the eye-patched woman didn't have a devious bone in her body. She just wanted to fight and maybe make a little money. The lion cub beside her lifted his head...and then put it back down as if slightly annoyed. 'Idiot,' Xin declared. Qhai looked down at the lion. "You shut up."
She rolled to her feet, took another look at the map. "So it's just go check out this tower thing, beat up anything vicious-looking we find along the way, right? No problem. I'll get started now unless there's something else."
(aauuugh! hit me when i do that! I totally forgot it was my turn!)
