Hello, everyone. Being brand new to the Chronicles of Edarin or any RPG, I know, can be intimidating at first. Maybe you don't know anyone, or know very few people and would like to get to know more.
We do all try to be friendly and lovable, but it's still scary, right?
For that reason I've created this Welcome Thread. Use it to tell us a little bit about yourselves/your characters/whatever else you feel you'd like to share and get to know some of your fellow players.
I'll start then:
My admin name here, as you can see is Arcady and I've been rp-ing in fantasy rpgs for *counts* probably about 9 or 10 years, since the wonderful game Astelbania which is sadly no longer in existence. (However, the creator of that game is going to be play-testing with us, so I feel much loved!)
Well, things happened and I was working on another game Gothic Empires, for a long while, which then got hacked and still has not been able to get up and running again. I sincerely hope that they do get up and going in the near future because I would very much like to affiliate with them as they run a great game and a lot of the play-testers here are players I know from GE.
So, thanks to the retirement of Astelbania and the involuntary loss of Gothic Empires I decided to get my butt in gear and work full throttle on an idea for my own game that I'd been toying with for quite some time, so I snagged Tommy and Arion and got to work.
A year later, Edarin is open for play-testing. There's still some work to be done, but we're tugging along.
The characters I'm currently playing are:
Qhai: a slightly insane female gladiator most notable for the patch and scar over her left eye and the fact she appears to like beating things up a little TOO MUCH. Qhai is what one might call completely lacking in femininity and is often mistaken for a young boy just on the edge of puberty--a fact that kind of irks her, but doesn't inspire her to change her ways. In lieu of a horse, Qhai's pet is a lion cub who seems to have adopted her. She's a psyon with the ability to speak with animals, but it never dawned on her that this was a psyonic power, she just chocks it up to being a little crazy--and people she walks by on the street who see her talking to her pet as if they're conversing generally brush it off, thinking she's just completely out of her mind. They may be right.
Ren: Ren comes from a large farming family but ran off against his father's very adamant wishes to the Pyres of Shadowbane to become a cleric of Fenris. He has the scar to prove just how much his father didn't want him to go. Though he spent a good part of his young life abused by an alcoholic parent, he doesn't seem jaded at all. In fact, he wears a permanent smile and is quite good natured and cheerful. He's the type who can hold a smile even in the worst situations. He also happens to be bisexual--for those curious about those sort of things--(with more leanings toward gay, for the record) and has gotten himself into a good bit of trouble with bedmates over the years, unintentionally, of course.
Eldarion: A male Zhoan whose father was from Thrae'Goden and whose mother was from the Grand, Eldarion in some ways fits into neither world...and also fits into both. His mother taught him proper manners and his father taught him to fight. Now living on his own he's well liked by all who know him, but has no real close friends. He's the type of person who one might mistake for a prince in disguise, in spite of the fact that he doesn't have a drop of royal blood in him--he just has a certain regal bearing about him. His horse, however...has none of his gentleness--stubborn and hating other 'people' in general, some claim Yago is really a demon beast in disguise, but he and Eldarion get along famously.
That's all of them for the moment. Who's next?
