"Be nice, or at least not cold Chem, look, I finally chose someone." Avati didn't really look at either man, by human standards, she looked in her very early twenties, the 'finally' a slight exaggeration given if anything by the looks of age. But there was a million ways to make any short time, feel like an enternity.
Avati looked at the men as the silence before she spoke quietly in her fathers' tongue, even without understanding the words, the daughters' plea was clear.
Chem shook Sinclairs' hand before sitting back in his seat and gesting to the chair before him at the other side of Avatis' before raising his cup he had hurrily placed down and taking a careful sip before he spoke.
"Consort...?"

Besides the words already hanging in the air there were the unspoken questions, bound to be voiced all too soon enough. Things like, "How long?" "When?" Where?" "How?" and the biggest of them all being "Why him?"
The last question being something that Sinclair admitted to himself he was quite curious to know, but deemed it to be little less than irrelevant. He loved her, and the emotions that swelled in his chest at the words "..finally chose..." were indescribable, and moreover he felt honored.
Sinclair did not pick at his food, but mustered more manners at such a spread than he normally would have; he carefully cut up each piece of each item and inserted it politely into his mouth. It had been years since a full stomach with a chance of 'overdoing it' seemed imminent. Despite the awkward air in the room the sight of his beautiful angel sitting across from him made him smirk.

Sinclair smiled at her, because of her more, and a soft echo curved Avatis' lips. She smiled to herself putting pieces of fruit between her lips, between smiles. How could she explain to her father, something he surely had experienced himself, with a far more alien being.
Avatis' eye blinked and the grap that headed for her lips, paused, before it was pressd more slowly, and chewed much the same. It was something her father had experienced before, the deus looked to her father, young enough to be a far older brother, he had loved her mother, she knew it, and remebered it, mated with her mother, and for a time was married to her mother, and in the slow blink of an eye, his love was dead, their child a woman, nearly approuching his age, and he, ageless in it all.
She swallowed slowly, perhaps she was reading too much into it, sending her own thoughts and fears upon situration out where they had no where to be. Moistening her lips, Avatis' eyes, downcasted, rose, she looked to the man, one one of the remaining direct family she had, and felt the old fears she had claw at her throat and behind her eyes and looked to Sinclair before smiling, abit slowly, but smiling a smile that gradually got to its full potential, the clawing terror easing, as if just looking at this man, eased the fears that gripped her heart, and whispered sweet nothings, even that she knew were lies, that she could wrap around herself.
"He is a very good man, who makes me feel alive, who seems to accept me, and that I haven't had to brain, yet."

At the back of his mind, trying to rend itself to the front, was something very evident that Sinclair had chosen outright to ignore. Avati's people lived hundreds of years, four or five, if not more, than he would live in his lifetime. It was a sad prospect this early in his life to be meeting his soul mate only to know that he would leave her behind. It made him happy, however, to know that he made her feel the same way she made him felt.
He continued to smirk, pouring himself a cup of tea and politely sipping at it before continuing on with his meal. He didn't think it prudent to interrupt their conversation, but he did however murmur to himself, "I wonder how long I can avoid that." Before taking another sip of tea.

"Its better than her screaming at you, hit you she'll storm of or cool off, screaming, she goes until she's right or looking like she's on th everge of tears. Dirty fighter." The bounty hunter raised a piece of meat cut with his fork to his lips and chewed thoughtfully.
"Didn't get it from her mother, that's for sure. The knocking people out, that was definatly Martiya." The man let the silence hang before moving into his food with a bit more dedication. "Alright then you two, give me the story, and then I want to hear more about, you, sinclair." The Zhoan looked to Sinclair directly, making sure the other knew, there was no escaping the inquisition.

Sinclair leaned back, scratching his chin, "I truly wish there were more to say, but I'm an orphan and haven't stayed too long in one place for as long back as I can remember. Though..." He paused, "That's changing." His fingertips ran over the stubble on his chin as he pondered what to say next.
His remarks were met with a ponderous stare, and he realized he'd skipped the first part of the question. Sinclair didn't know if he should tell a white lie, or the gods' honest truth to the man, he decided to opt for the honest approach, "To be honest? I met your daughter not twelve hours ago. But then...I suppose there is such a thing as romance at first scald." He paused awkwardly again, realizing the oddity of his statement.

Avati swallowed as Chem slowed his chewing, and his hand lightly rested upon the table the woman pushed back from the table with startling speed. "Papa..." As the man began to stand, Avati mirrors his moments glancing to Sinclair and to her father.
"I'm a big girl now, remeber? Can we sit down and finish eatting this wonderful meal you've made? It's not so bad, really, its not like we just met in the street. We had tea, we spoke, made a very good connection, and somewhere before things even started, we knew."

Sinclair continued to ponder after the air settled, his life was relatively short in comparison to Avati's or her father's, he knew this and attempted to work the angle, "Your people live for hundreds of years, I'm certain you were born before my great great grandfather, whomever he may have been, so your life is taken at a slower pace. Life lessons might be learned over the course of decades, humans learn them in a matter of days, months, and usually years. Time is a luxury I do not have."
He finished his thought, but regretted it, speaking to a man hundreds of years his elder surely understood the situation on some level, even if he didn't like it.

"Your love will feel but a season long, and forever and if your love produces a child, what then, you will die while your offspring is but a babe, fragil and needing, if you are lucky for it to be of old age, even then, the child will have its mother. But what of the mother, to see the one she borne of love, age twice as quickly as she, and see the death of her young before she has her first grey hair."
The Zhoan spoke queitly his eyes for the man accross him, "Life lessons should be learned, and shared when you see those upon the path you yourself tread, if you had it within your power, to save the heartache and pain, that you have felt, that you have seen, would you not speak.
If you see the heart ache and pain, your child has experienced once already, begining again, would you not try to change and discouraged the temptations of fate, to shed one of such gentle heart more tears?
You are both of your own enough to make your own decisions, for however brief it is, it is your life, but as an elder, heed if not my own story, Avati, heed your own, and bare no children of this union if you can manage.
It is unfair to one so innocent, to bear such weight alone."

Sinclair drank the bitter words, his expression remained neutral while his worst fears were voiced by something other than his conscience. Suddenly Sinclair felt quite tired, but kept what he was feeling to himself, ultimately what would happen...Would happen, and it would be up to him, up to his lover, to see things through. He pondered for a few more painful moments before speaking, "A shame there's no way to avoid it..."
With a sigh he finished his cup of tea before bringing a piece of fruit to his mouth and chewing it slowly, thoughtfully. His appetite was all but shattered, and every piece of him that had kept him roaming his whole life, suppressed by his beautiful lover, began to ache in his muscles. It took every fiber of his being not to get up and walk off, if only for her sake.

"Enough,Chem." Avatis' voice shook from the table end.
"Enough, I don't need you to remind me of these things, was it not you who told me not a day ago, not to worry so much, that I would not turn to dust at this moment. The same applies, it was harsh, and cruel, to do that. I must have cried a thousand times, and I wake this morning, the happiest I've been in so long, even when i remeber all of that, all of this, I was happy, and you do this.
Leave."
Chem looked as surprised as his daughter at her words, her arms wrapped around herself the woman back away as the elf stepped forward. "Get out! Leave, I don't want you here right now, I don't want this, not from you, not after all that's happened, that's been." She danced away again as he moved, her name upon her lips before the woman moved, stumbling to the door, the thud of it closing behind her echoed numbly.

Sinclair wasted no time in standing, "Pain. Love. Pleasure. More Pleasure. Fondness. Sadness. Anger. I was hoping to save the last two for much later." He strode calmly to the door, leaving an obviously bewildered man behind him, he couldn't blame him for saying what he did, in Chem's shoes Sinclair knew he'd have said exactly the same thing. He calmly opened the door and with equal tranquility closed it behind him.
Once outside he looked to the sky and whistled sharply, a moment or two passed and the silhouette of a majestic bird of prey appeared in the skies overhead. It circled several times slowly before making quick work to a low branch near Sinclair, it crowed savagely, something Sinclair had always found reassuring to him. "Do me a favor and keep a look out for my lady, Theodore." It squawked and took to the air again as Sinclair strode off in the direction in which she was likely to head.

Avati hadn't gotten far, she ran around the side of the house, and probably would have laid there in the cool grass and cried her heart out, if it wasn't for the persistant horse that stood near by, nearing the woman as soon as she came into it sight. It nickered, nuzzled her face and neck, trying and managing to chew upon a few locks of her hair, the deus wrapped her arms around the animals neck the hair and feathers of its mane laid beneath her cheek and dampened with each shedded tear before stepping back and looking at the horse, and wiping the trails from her eyes.
"I understand why you couldn't bare to bind yourself to such a creature like me, I'm always crying whenever you see me, running away, how sad. I should have stayed there and made him go, not run off, I left sinclair in there, what' s he going to think after all that?" Avat sighed and petted the horses head before once again laying her face against its neck.
"Haven't even chosen a name for you yet."

Sinclair walked several dozen feet away from the house and kept his ears open, there was a gentle nae of a horse, his ear twitched and he turned towards the noise emanating from a small wooden stable. Theodore fluttered down gently, landing on the roof and roosting there for several seconds, screeching lightly, almost sarcastically. "Thanks, bud," Sinclair said facetiously to himself and softly walked towards the stable, his lovers voice softly echoing through the building.
He quietly entered, her face was buried into a horse's neck, an unexplainable emotion tugged at his heart, it was painful to see her sad, he hated it. He wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder and kissing her neck softly. He opened his mouth to speak several times but the words wouldn't come, his arms tightened around her waist, one of them moved up and wrapped around her chest, pulling her to him.

She sighed, she worried, in part of her, deep in her heart, that he too would be gone, would leave and not look back, fueled by her fathers' words and her actions, but here he was his arms held her, his lips caressed her, his arms held her.
Avati leaned her head back upon Sinclairs' shoulder, and looked skyward for a long moment, feeling his heart beat into her back, his breath blow past her ear and along her neck, his hands holding, kind and warm with soft desperation.
She fought against his grip, ,only briefly, until he saw that she wished to turn within his arms, to meet him chest to chest, and look upon her lovers' face, and see into the eyes that just the night before laid her bare and saw her, into her, and showed her someone beautiful.
Avati touched sincalirs jaw, stroked, and focused upon it, afraid to meet his eyes with her own, her father had spoken the harsh truth that htey both knew, but being so confronted with it , like a bucket of water in the face in the winter, she feared to see the changes within her lovers gaze . Laying her face agaisnt his chest, Avati rested an arm against his shoulder, and stroked her fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck.
"Sorry about that, what he said, for running ou.t Its my own house, but i ran out like finding my first love kissing the milkmaid. Mind you, you think anything funny like that, and it won't be me crying."
