Syn shrugged and gestured with her head towards the East. "There's a stream that filters into a small pond not far from here," she said, still lightly stroking Slainte's jaw. "It's not the best place to clean up, but it's not the worst, either. Your call, though. I can go in blood or not and it will not bother me much."
She smirked as she said this, almost a teasing smirk, yet devious at the same time. It was just as frightening as she had been this entire time, but almost playful.. Almost.

It wasn't so much that Tristan minded sharing drinks with someone covered in blood, as it was a common sight in his line of work, but what put him on edge was that Syn acted so casually about it. "It's better than nothing." He was almost starting to regret this idea, and wondered if he could maybe avoid the whole thing if he told her to go on ahead and that he'd meet up with her. Visions of this woman hunting him with that same vicious look in her eyes quickly shook that idea. Without another word, the Deus headed up the hill, weapon over his shoulder - he could've called his horse down to him, but getting a little space between him and the Nymandine wasn't a bad idea.

Syn watched Tristan go, and when he was out of ear-shot, snorted in amusement and an attempt to conceal her laughter. Laughter.. This was something that she did not often partake in, as strange as it sounded. Sometimes, Slainte would do something completely silly on accident, and she would laugh, but that was different. Another sentient being made her laugh this time.
"Well, Slainte," she said to her steed, eyes glittering with a smile that she did not let reach her lips. "This is interesting.." The stallion whinnied in response, nudging her with his massive head in the direction of the hill. She chuckled quietly and began to walk up it as well, but angled so that she would be a decent distance away so as to not disturb the other when he was cleaning himself. Her cleaning rag was produced, and when she finally met the stream, she soaked it and wrung it out, washing it, before taking it to her exotic flesh and the multi-colored leather she wore.

Tristan cast one more sideways glance towards the woman before beginning a cleaning ritual that seemed just as, if not more routine and efficient as the way he fought earlier. It put his mind at ease - not entirely, but he'd take what he could get. Syn seemed like the type to make challenges for the sake of making them, though the Deus never once realized that he was the kind of person to meet challenges for the sake of meeting them. He wondered what kind of trouble he'd gotten himself into here, and tried to distract himself as he washed off his gear.
"So, have you been doing this long?" He called down the stream a bit, straightening himself and watching her. Most of the Nymandine he'd encountered seemed more intent on hunting those who didn't deserve it, innocent souls, but a monster hunter was pretty rare... unless there was some kind of secret Nymandine monster-hunting association that he wasn't aware of...

Syn tilted her head in thought as she washed blood from her leg. "Depends," she said. She smirked as she looked at Tristan. "On whether you mean how long I've been killing, or how long I've hunted."
Ah, yes. Ever the smart ass.
"I've killed for over a thousand years.. I took up hunting about fifty-four years ago.." Her voice reflected tones that showed.. regret? Not necessarilly. It did tell that she was in a stage of repentence for her deeds.. But her true motivations were ever secret..

Tristan hated looking surprised, because it gave people the impression that you were un-informed, out of the loop - something he hated to give away to those he was constantly trying to endear with his exploits. Still, he couldn't help himself this time, blinking quite noticeably. A thousand years? Is she kidding? He figured that Nymandine had expanded lifespans, but in reality, he was pretty naive about their race as a whole. He blushed faintly. She had over fifty more years of experience on him, and it felt rather humbling.
"That's... pretty impressive." He gave his best smile and turned his attention to the reflection staring back at him, grimacing at the stream. Well, if there was one good thing to say about this, it was that she seemed to think him skilled or at least capable, and that was a pretty big compliment (in his opinion) from someone who's over a thousand years old.

Ah, yes.. He was definitely surprised. Syn smiled to herself a moment and then shrugged. "To some extent, yes," she said, but gave no more than that. She was a killer, not a talker.. However, it seemed quite interesting to Tristan, or so she thought, which brought her to speak once more. "Trust me, seeing the turn of a century isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's pretty boring, to be honest."

"Have you always been alone, then?" It was a rather forward question that he wouldn't ask your average Nymandine for fear of physical retaliation, but Syn didn't strike him as the type... or so he hoped. He was sincerely curious how certain things are handled when you live so damn long - was it normal to go years and years without companionship, just because it was a drop of water in a much larger lake? He'd finished cleaning by now, strolling casually in her direction as his horse amused itself by wandering in small circles.
(Not much better. :P)

The Nymandine woman was quiet for a long moment, considering the question and how to answer it. There was always the truth, and then there was always the right answer. Strangely enough, they were the same this time.. Damn. Syn shrugged as she finished washing down her legs and replaced the stitched-leather boots.
"I've been alone for a long while, if that's what you wanted to know," she said. "I might have loved once, but that would have been over a century ago." She rose with her boots in place again, one hand moving through short white locks as she stared at the water a moment.
"Any more questions, young one?" she teased slightly. Teasing was new to her. It wasn't loving, nor mean, and thus she was unsure of what exactly it was.

Wow... a century? And I thought I was lonely. The hunter gave the Nymandine a thoughtful sort of look, head tilted lightly to the side. So she still insisted on teasing him about his age? That was fine. Now that he knew how old she was, he'd allow Syn that privilege, and besides, he was starting to find it endearing. "Probably," he admitted, taking the reins of his horse and leading it in her direction. "But they can wait, right? Don't want to use up all our conversation before we get to the tavern, and who knows? Your answers might be better once you've had a few." The pretty blond laughed quietly and pulled himself into the sattle, watching her expectantly. "Shall we?"

Syn smirked her amusement and nodded, a sharp whistle passing her lips before Slainte returned, and the Nymandine swiftly mounted, bardiche and all. "We shall," she said. "You do know the way, correct?" More light teasing, something Syn was definitely unfamiliar with, but found by far too easy to do. Well, as long as he knew the way to th nearest pub, she had no problem.

The youth nodded. He knew several pubs, actually, that weren't too far a ride from here, but the trick was trying to think of the one that would be the least populated. Tristan wanted a good drink, but not the crowds that came with a quality bar... he'd just have to hope for the best and go somewhere in the middle. With any luck, they'd hit a slow spell and there won't be too many rumors flying around about the demon hunter consorting with a wicked-looking Nymandine. He turned his horse and headed off, glancing over his shoulder only once to make sure she was following.
(Do you want to use a major tavern that already has an established topic, or just make a new one?)

[Sure, we can use the one already created ^^ Would you like to assume Syn followed and make the first post there?]
