He was treading on uncommon ground here; not only was he terrible at getting people to put some faith in him, but he'd never tried to do it through kisses. Nairi just trusted that things would work out, and in the meantime, they could both enjoy themselves... hopefully. He knew he was, anyway. Kashan was still a little stiff, but she seemed to be loosening up, something he suspected that her body had been waiting years to do.
Nairi pulled away after a few more blissful moments, his cheeks still colored. "What did I tell you? Don't be. You probably think I have all the experience in the world at this, don't you?" He tilted his head and reached behind, tugging the strip of cloth away, hair tumbling down to frame the somewhat sultry look he was giving her. "That just isn't the case. It's all instincts. You've neglected yours, I think..." He grinned and traced a long fingernail over a small expanse of her jawline. "Maybe we can wake them up?"

Kashan could only blink helplessly up at Nairi as if she was watching the last little sliver of control she had over this situation crumbling to dust before her very eyes. Nairi and his gentle touches, and his kisses, she was absolutely certain were to blame for that.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the more he spoke, the more certain she was that her cheeks were going to be stained pink until the end of time. It scared her, but what scared her the most was that the thought of Nairi leaving her alone again. She'd already been alone for so long--her partially self-inflicted prison of thick black cloth and tightly woven bandages. But to Nairi, all that was unnecessary and she desparately needed someone to accept her for who and what she was.
But more importantly, for the moment, she didn't have a clue how she was supposed to answer. Her mouth opened, then closed again helplessly as her brain failed to come up with words to answer him with.
She sighed and dropped her forehead onto his shoulder. She didn't know why, but figured maybe it was a sign of defeat. "...just don't leave," she said. She'd lost. She was starting to feel like maybe anything was fine, as long as she could stay near Nairi. ...and she hated that it had been so easy for him to turn her world upside down and how she wasn't really as mad about it as she thought she ought to be.

That seemed to be what Nairi had been waiting for this whole time; he dropped the intimate advances and wound his fingers through Kashan's hair instead, holding her gently against his shoulder. If she actually wanted him around, then they could probably take this a little slower, right? He didn't care if they roused her instincts now... maybe they'd just wake up on their own, over time.
"No one has ever said that to me before. It's always 'go away,' or 'leave me alone,' or..." His voice trailed off, becoming lost in the network of caverns around them. It was as if he just realized that this was a huge step for himself as well. He'd never shared company with anyone for a prolonged amount of time, never had anyone that actually wanted him around, and it felt strange; nice, but strange. He blushed and kissed the top of her head. "Not really sure what to do now," he admitted shyly.

It felt kind of...nice. It wasn't nice in the same way that the kissing had been nice, but comforting and soft. Kashan found her hand fisting in Nairi's shirt, as if she was torn somewhere between hugging and not hugging.
Ah, but they were both shy and awkward and just adorable, weren't they? "I've already been alone for a long time," she answered quietly, that cute little pout on her voice. "Not being alone seems like maybe it'll be nicer."
What to do? Ah, yeah, that's true, maybe this was kind of awkward, but Kashan was fine with not doing anything at all for the moment. She didn't answer, not really having an answer to give him. They were both in unfamiliar territory, it seemed.

Just how long had she been alone, he wondered? She didn't look very old, and he imagined that she had parents to raise her, but then again, he'd never seen a deus like her before. There was probably some stigma involved, but still - to his eyes, she only looked a few years his elder. "That's probably not very comfortable for you," he mused as he moved his arms to encircle her. The wings made it a little difficult, but he eventually got a handle on her and tugged Kashan closer into their first real hug. He had no intentions of letting go of her.
"There. That's better, right? You can rest against me this way." There'd been quite a few times during the night where he wished he had someone to do this with, but she'd probably been wishing for the same thing for years. Maybe her whole life. He'd have to ask at some point, but the time wasn't right now. Nairi alternated between stroking her hair and her back, always smiling whenever he felt the odd texture of scales beneath his fingers.

Kashan gasped softly in surprise as she was soon pulled against the young swordsman. She was akward, but not stupid, and understood now she could wrap her arms around him in return and not feel awkward about doing so. She shivered a bit at the feeling of his arms around her and his warm hands on her back...especially contented by the way he didn't tense or flinch when he touched scales instead of skin. He made her feel almost pretty--almost. At least he made her feel like he thought so and that was good enough.
"Your hands are warm," she said before she could catch the words and keep them in her mouth. She blushed faintly, finding them stupid. Of course his hands were warm. I mean, duh.

At least she was feeling... that was good, right? Nairi, who could be quite the optimist at times, was just grateful that she was allowing him to do so. She could've just as easily said that his touch made her flesh crawl, or that he was being too firm or too soft (unlikely, but the day had been full of surprises). He was content that she was; if she was relaxing, it helped him do the same, as he was so very worried that he was doing this whole thing right.
"They like you." He laughed softly and idly observed the room, worrying his bottom lip gently. "So... where do we go from here? Do we live in this cave from here on? You had a life before me. How do I fit into it?"

Kashan made a face against Nairi's shoulder and mumbled, "stupid" because that comment was, but soon a more serious question was asked and she lifted her head so she could look at him. Was he really serious? He wanted to be a part of her life? That...would be really nice, not that she would likely ever say so.
"I don't know. It's not much of a life anyway. Mostly I just wander around and sometimes people ask me to fix things. When that gets dull I go back home for a little while to study under my mentor." She paused and fidgeted a bit, but she doubted Nairi of all people would be prejudiced. "I ah, I have a house in Telsey. I'm not a psyon or anything but, I like it there."

Nairi thought that it was only natural. They couldn't stay in this moment forever - he didn't have any attachments, being the sort of spastic nomad that he was, but he thought that Kashan might. Most normal people did, and while she wasn't exactly normal, she tried pretty hard to pretend that she was. "Telsey, huh? I don't think I've ever been there, but maybe it's best I don't go." Nairi sounded worried, and he averted his eyes from hers for the moment. "If you've got an instructor there, I'm sure they'd disapprove of me... right?"
It was a valid concern. Whoever taught Kashan her craft most likely had an emotional investment in their student, which meant they'd know all about how awkward she was in personal matters. Now, all of the sudden, she had someone romantically interested in her, and it's some crazy kid that just barged into her life? Yeah... it wouldn't end well. He whimpered softly.

"It doesn't matter," Kashan answered as if she didn't think anyone would care one way or another. "He just teaches me things. It's not as if we're close, or anything. And Telsey is a good city--people there don't judge you for being different because most everyone there is different. That's why I kind of like it, but...you don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable." How was this suddenly becoming so easy? This touching and talking thing? "I'm not in any rush to go back right now. Like I said, mostly I'm just kind of...idle."

"It sounds like a nice place." He wasn't just saying that, either. His life might have turned out differently if his wanderings had taken him there. Nairi could have found someone that accepted him... maybe even someone that could have helped him, and where would he be then? And who would he be? Probably not with Kashan... he preferred this life, simply because of that. His fingers moved up into her hair again, running through the soft black strands idly. "I'd like to see it, but you're right, we don't need to do it right now. We should think about what we're going to do for the night, though. Can't really sleep in here..."
